After the elections held at the Brandy de Jerez Regulating Council, Evaristo Babé has once again been re-elected as president of the institution, thus renewing the post he has held since 1989.
Jesús Medina García de Polavieja, Managing Director and CEO of Bodegas Williams & Humbert has been elected Vice-President of the Brandy de Jerez Regulating Council Alongside Jesús Medina, the new executive committee is made up of his predecessor in the post, Francisco Javier Requejo, Manuel Valcárcel (Fundador), Mauricio González Gordon (González Byass), Jan Petersen (Rey Fernando de Castilla), Luis Luengo, (Caballero/Lustau), Lorenzo García Iglesias (Tradición) and Ignacio Lozano (Osborne).
The Regulating Council, pioneer in Spain for a spirits drink, is the organisation responsible for overseeing the fulfilment of the regulations contained in the Technical Files, thus certifying the quality of those products covered by the Protected Geographical Indication “Brandy de Jerez”. It is a corporation governed by public law, formed by representatives of the subscribing wineries and has the principal functions of the management, representation and defence of the Brandy de Jerez.
